Spring is in full swing!

....and we've been busy. Of course, the world cup cricket excitement catapaulted to a feverish pitch starting with the quarterfinal game but the victory in the end (sweet as it was) justified all the manic giddiness and the mass hysteria, I suppose. And the fact that there were a billion odd people celebrating with you made it that much more fun!

In other news, we had a b'day to celebrate - Uj's this time. I want to pat myself on the back for this one just because I pulled it off on a really short notice - 3 hrs to be precise! Well, long story short - Uj had business meetings all week long and hence a b'day celebration at home with friends had been ruled out. But that afternoon, he called to let me know that his schedule was clear and he would home in time for dinner. So, I thought I should at least get him a cake and I found these gorgeous (decide for yourself) cupcakes at Market Street and that was my inspiration! So, three hours, a few more rounds at the grocery store and a few phone calls later we were having a party at home. On the menu was tortilla chips with queso, salsa and guacamole, carrot slaw and cranberry salad, a side of cut fruits, homemade quesadillas, mixed vegetable soup and of course the heavenly cupcakes! And I found these really fun happy b'day tea lights some time back in Pier one which I thought added a touch of whimsy to the cupcakes. Friends, fun and laughter made it a perfect evening! So, there you have it our little celebration in pictures!

Now for some Li'l A news... After being holed in for most afternoons the entire winter, Li'l A couldn't be more excited about the weather these days. Most evenings are spent riding his "big boy bike" with kids from the neighborhood and every time I look at him, I realize how much and how fast he has grown! Where is that li'l chubby baby that I had to carry everywhere or the tiny toddler that I used to hold hands while walking, I wonder...

April promises to be a busy month - Ugadi celebration, housewarming and birthday parties have already found a space on the calendar but I had to stop by and say hello !
Hope you all are enjoying spring as much as we are.
